The Problem:

Meet Mark and Susan, a couple from New South Wales, who saw the potential in rooming house investment in Brisbane. However, they faced significant challenges. First, they needed to build remotely because they were located hours away from the construction site. They couldn’t be onsite for daily or weekly inspections and check-ins. The bigger challenge was the land itself: a difficult sloping block that would make most builders walk away.

The Decision:

After witnessing the High Yield Property Club’s previous builds and being inspired by other success stories, the couple finally decided to build their very own rooming house.

The Solution:

Through their High Yield Property Club membership, Mark and Susan are thrilled with their done-for-you rooming house project, despite managing the project remotely and doing it in a problematic sloping block.

In this journey, they experienced:

Investor Support and Education– As early as 2015, Susan had been convincing Mark to strongly consider real estate investments, but their busy schedules left little room to dive in. That changed when Mark signed up for a High Yield Property Club membership. Together, they began studying courses, attending webinars, and learning the strategy step-by-step. With the HYPC team guiding them, Mark and Susan saved countless hours and were able to focus on the information that truly mattered: smart and data-driven investment strategy.

Efficient Hands-off Project– Living in New South Wales, hours away from the construction site in Brisbane, Mark and Susan had to rely entirely on feedback and trust. Despite not being able to check on the project’s progress closely, they were confident with the HYPC’s Wholesale Rooming House System. The project was completed in just six and a half months, which is “unheard of in the industry.”

HYPC Gold Standard Plan– Despite having a relatively small space of 30 sqm with kitchenette, ensuite, living room and bedroom, Mark and Susan were surprised how each micro-apartment still feel “roomy”.

Tackling the Impossible– Working on a sloping block usually complicates engineering and design. Many builders would have walked away from this project; but the HYPC’s partner builder tackled this problem. Despite the slope, the design incorporated stumps for elevation, internal undercover balconies, and smart furniture-position engineering that maximise comfort and function.

The Result:

Mark and Susan’s rooming house is projected to generate over $100,000 annual rental income.

Their five micro-apartments will provide affordable housing that’s cheaper than tent sites in the same area, yet far more beautiful and sacred living spaces for five individuals who need it the most.

Mark and Susan proved that neither distance and busy schedules nor a challenging block have to be barriers to a successful rooming house investment in Brisbane.

With their trust and confidence turning into a profitable investment, Mark and Susan are keen on making another rooming house with the HYPC and encourage others to do it too.
